Call for Proposals: Community Moves 2024

Theme: Connections to Place

Projected Dates: June 1st - June 8th 2024

Overview: Method Dance Society is excited to invite proposals for activities, workshops, and collaborative performances as part of the Community Moves 2024 festival. This year's theme, "Connections to Place," aims to explore and celebrate the diverse connections individuals and communities have with their environment, culture, and local surroundings. Through this open and collaborative approach, we seek to nourish a space where participants can creatively express and engage with the theme, allowing for unique and unexpected connections to emerge.

Proposal Requirements:

We welcome proposals from artists, community members, organizations, and creatives interested in facilitating activities or creating performances aligned with the theme. Please submit your proposal addressing the following points:

Deadline for Submission: January 21st 2024 11:59 PM pacific time

 Artist Compensation:

Method Dance Society values the contributions of artists and creators. As part of Community Moves 2024, selected artists will receive compensation for their time and work.

Workshops, Activities, and Jams: Artists leading workshops, activities, or jams will receive an honorarium of $100 for their time and expertise.


Performance-Based Works: For performance-based works, we adhere to recognized industry rates as established by organizations like CADA/WEST, CARFAC, ACTRA, etc. Negotiations regarding performance fees will be conducted directly with the artists. Contracts outlining compensation and terms will be finalized before the commencement of projects.

If you have specific compensation rates or requirements beyond the standard honorarium for workshops or pre-established performance rates, please include these details in the additional information section of your proposal submission. We are committed to fairly compensating artists for their creative contributions and ensuring transparent agreements that align with industry standards.

Note: At this time, Method Dance Society regrets that we are unable to provide financial support for travel expenses incurred by artists to attend the event. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
