Lisa Dickson is a Full Professor in the Department of English at the University of Northern British Columbia where she specializes in Renaissance Literature and Pedagogy. She is a 3M National Teaching Fellow, Vice-Chair of the 3M NTF Council Executive, and Founding Project Co-ordinator of the 3M NTF National Mentoring Network. She has published on Dance in Shakespeare and on theatrical productions of Early Modern drama with a focus on theories of performativity, metatheatre and the epistemology of Medieval and Early Modern optics. Her current project is a co-authored book on Shakespeare and the Pedagogy of Critical Hope. As a student, she has danced at Judy Russellโs Enchainement Dance Centre for a decade, focusing on modern and contemporary, hip hop, jazz and dance conditioning. She has also acted as dance dramaturg for a modern competition piece. She is excited to be a part of Method Contemporary Dance Society as a member of the Board of Directors, a venture in community-building and the development of professional dance in the north.
